Gorgeously shot movie that is a completely different take on the Hansel and Gretel fairy tale. This time it's all about Gretel and the witch. Gretel is special, as is the witch.

Easily one of the most boring movies I've ever seen. The Blair Witch Project was more riveting. That's not a joke. I genuinely believe that to be true.
Nothing, and I mean NOTHING, happens until right around the end when you get a single move of witchcraft.
I've seen people comparing it to VVitch, but that's bullshit. VVitch was interesting because it was based on actual records from that time. Still, if you've seen that movie, perhaps you understand the art here. Slow, boring, and pretentious. Where that logic fails is that the movie is pretty straight forward. It isn't hard to follow the plot. It's just that it's mind-numbingly dull.
I would not recommend it, but to each their own. It is a beautifully shot movie though.
