Anne Hathaway, who I think is really hot, is a ballsy reporter that smokes a lot and finds herself embroiled in the Iran-Contra Affair. Lots of Contra talk and a visit to Nicaragua, but it's mostly just about her life and career. She also shows her breasts.

Willem Dafoe is her dad and apparently a gun runner.

Think it's a huge coincidence that a reporter breaking the Iran-Contra story is the daughter of a gun runner providing said guns? You'd be right. It's a completely made up story, but revolves around elements of the gun running and drug trade going on in Central America during the Reagan years.

Ben Affleck is a CIA agent or something. He apparently took this role after Nic Cage had to drop out.

Rosie Perez is in this as well and she has not aged well.

Very competently made. Hathaway does an exceptional job. Everyone's acting is great.

The problem is that it's fucking boring. Insanely boring. And the story is all over the fucking place. People show up and you have no idea who they are. Shit happens and you're completely lost as to why. Hathaway's character has to be a monumental moron to do some of the things see does. I would tell you the most glaring plot hole in the entire film, but it's a massive spoiler.

This could have been something really good, and maybe the book it's based on is something really good. However, this film wastes all the talent attached.
