My first thought was "What is the intent or meaning here?" So I googled and discovered a lot of different takes.

This "expert's" take strikes me as wrong and pretentious.

Glover is a guy who loves pop culture and is a noted fan of Star Wars and comic books, so I doubt it's the anti-violence message that "expert" seems to imply.

I have my own thoughts about how I interpret the video, but I guess we have to wait until Glover himself tells us what it means.

I see at least a few themes: 1) anti-gun, ease of killing people with weapons, the status of guns in society (the red cloth used to carry the guns, how quickly the come in/out, 2) something about black culture focus on the wrong things (stacks, etc), 3) hard to be a black man in society.

Maybe they were dead?

I've had upstairs neighbors on a couple of times. Was the top floor of dorm in college, so we were the loud people who got yelled at. After college, first apt had upstairs neighbors, but rarely heard them. Later had an apt with upstairs neighbor, and I could hear their footsteps in the morning.
