2016 General Election Thread
Re: 2016 General Election Thread
Don't like food, don't like sex... seriously... get a CAT scan or something.

Re: 2016 General Election Thread
I don't like cats that much in general, either. Occasional exceptions have been made. By the by, I've had a couple dozen MRI scans of my brain done. That was back in the lab rat days, and they weren't testing for any personality abnormalities.

Not that your ego needs more inflating, but how much do you think you are more capable of that than the average person? You cannot just think of yourself. (Maybe you can, I argue one cannot morally).Malcolm wrote:They've got 10-20 years to figure out a new skill. My industry is inherently learning new shit over and over and over again. You cannot freeze technological progress nor will you be able to force the corps to play ball and pay expensive, error-prone humans who get sick and need medical leave, vacations, ad nauseum. The horse is out of the barn and the roof, the roof, the roof is on fire. People have to be ready, willing, and able to learn new shit. Evolution says so, natural selection says so, economics says so.Self-driving trucks would put out of work millions of people, who cannot do anything else. They can earn a decent middle class life today, and it's gone in 10-20 years.

Part of me wants to run for President.
1) I've never advocated grabbing women by their pussy.
2) While I did run my own private email server for a while, there was 0 change of classified information being on it.
I feel like I could have won this round by default.

Alternative: make a voting bloc to tax the fuck out of foreign products. Have fun. 1) the gov't
2) the corps
3) themselves
I'm not trying to be a dick (well, not as much as usual), but name another actor who's going to swoop in and save their ass. Which one of those three would these people prefer to bet on?

That's the nature of a fundamental shift in the basic underpinning of the world economy. These people are going to have to face the same problems that all the family farmers had to deal with in the last century. But like that there will be some other way for them to make a living, it's just too soon to know exactly what the equivalent of factory jobs is going to be once the dust has settled. My money is on everyone becoming artists, musicians, actors, writers, and other types of entertainers; I suspect the coming economy will completely smash the traditional publishing industries and the final result will be an economy that is able to support all those creative endeavors (or at least an economy that provides the basics of food, shelter, and utilities to everyone without employment and encourages further enrichment beyond the basics mostly through creating and "selling" content). But there's a lot of people being left behind, and they're getting mad.
Regardless, there's a fundamental shift coming that will leave a lot of people very confused and angry, yes. But their only choice is to adapt or smash the system so hard that we go back to all being farmers to survive.

The controllers of wealth create the job market. There will continue to be a boom in 'arguments-for-hire' jobs like corporate law, patent attorney, etc..TPRJones wrote:That's the nature of a fundamental shift in the basic underpinning of the world economy. Re: 2016 General Election Thread
so I'm on steroids, which is MAKING MY MIND RACE. Last night I had a pretend 1 hour debate with Clinton + Trump. I won!
But then I had to worry about my reddit and DTman accounts, and I wasn't sure what to do. I also deleted all my FB stuff before I entered the race.
And I was trying to figure out how hard it would be for the russians to hack my accounts.

Re: 2016 General Election Thread
Man likes porn. I'm sure everyone will act shocked, and locker rooms will make statements about how none of them watch porn.
I found the headline for that link funny though. "He thought Trayvon's killing was justified". What it implies is the "public shaming" that's a favorite tactic of the left. Read his statement though and you'll see he based that opinion on what he's read about the case, yet still called Zimmerman a piece of shit.

I'm going to bet that 45-50 is closer to how he acts. That's not a good thing.TheCatt wrote:He's 34. I seriously thought he was 45 or 50.

I question the validity of the porn industry statistic data collection.

What the fuck.
The contentious race to succeed term-limited Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon has generated $27.5 million in television ads since last year, making it the most expensive governor's race in the country, according to an independent analysis released Thursday.

Re: 2016 General Election Thread
More voter fraud.
Hey, speaking of ways to lose a swing state:
I could go insane, like some, over finding ten fucking forms out of several thousand. Or I could default to this:Varoga said the Indiana Voter Registration Project was launched in May and had hoped to sign up 50,000 voters by the Oct. 11 deadline. Patriot Majority has conducted voter registration drives in 12 other states, Varoga said, and “in no other state have we seen the state police brought in to harass canvassers, to go to homes of canvassers and threaten them with arrest and demanding they take polygraph tests.”
I'm waiting for those vids shot by the loony in NY to result in some charges. Not exactly holding my breath. And I'll start bitching more about cheating during voting when districts themselves aren't drawn up to resemble MC Escher artwork in order to lock them in for certain parties. That affects elections far, far more than scattered instances of this nickel and dime bullshit which is a lightning rod for overreaction and bureaucratic fuckery. In recent years, Republican governors and legislatures, citing concerns about voter fraud, have enacted numerous laws requiring specific forms of identification, curbing early voting periods and requiring additional verification for people trying to register to vote. Such changes accelerated after the Supreme Court struck down a section of the 1965 Voting Rights Act that required states to seek prior approval from the Justice Department. But legal scholars and studies have found that in-person voter fraud is very rare and such laws adversely affect turnout among minorities and younger voters.
Hey, speaking of ways to lose a swing state:
Yeah, voter fraud is what's going to lose the election for Trump. It's certainly not his personality which makes your average Neanderthal look smoother than James fucking Bond.Donald Trump's campaign announced Saturday that it is cutting ties with the Republican Party chairman in the critical battleground state of Ohio less than a month before the election.
