I think it is the algorithm. Check out the keywords that are used. Click on each picture, and you'll see how it was labeled.

The vast majority of the ones in the first link are labeled "Happy African American Couple"

The words Happy American Couple are all over it. And people would probably label white people as "Happy Couple," without specifying race. Whereas, if you specifically want black people, you would use race as a qualifier.
