"Oh, so you're not talking about me – good, because I have polycystic ovarian syndrome, while PCOS is not the only reason I turned from 130-lb. 18-year-old to an over 300-lb. woman. Right now, it is a really big contributing factor. So I'm so glad you're not talking about me, except you are talking about me because you can't see a person's health from looking at them. The next time you see a fat person, you don't know whether that person has a medical condition that caused them to gain weight. You don't know if their mother just died. You don't know if they're depressed or suicidal or if they just lost 100 pounds. You don't know. Let me hammer this one home. You cannot tell a person's health, physical or otherwise from looking at them."
Listen, I get it. If you're overweight because of a medical condition, this would sting. However, 3 in 4 men in this country are considered overweight. (Although, to be fair, the BMI is a joke.) 1/3rd of all Americans are obese. That's past overweight and into very unhealthy areas. They're not all suffering from medical conditions unless being lazy and eating Ho-Hos is a medical condition (and in some states, sadly, it is).
Maybe Arbour is being a cunt about it, but as a society shouldn't we be encouraging people to not be overweight rather than telling them to be proud of the body they have? Obesity is the number one killer in this country and "we should be proud of the body we have", but guns kill a small fraction of people and they need to be outlawed?

* - That caused them to get fat. I'm sure more than that have medical conditions now due to being fat.
Maybe since more and more people are withdrawing from life and having their social needs met (poorly) on the internet, they need to turn to comfort food for their "hugs."
