Jigsaw is dead, yet the Jigsaw murders go on, in the tradition of Saw comes another twisting plot that only gets revealed at the end.
Well, that's what was probably the goal. It didn't really turn out that way though.
Right from the first second, you know who the killer is and not because you're guessing. The film tells you.
The rest of the movie is nothing more than a story explaining how they can keep making Saw movies. I'm not kidding. That's what this film is all about.
The storyline about Jigsaw, who has replaced him, why, and the law in pursuit of this person is boring. However, the film is redeemed partially by the Jigsaw trap that goes on throughout the movie featuring 5 people who have no apparent connection.
Their trap is pretty cool, but pretty obvious as well. You should know at room #2 what they don't figure out until the end. (Room #2 is one of those logic holes that will be painful to viewers with IQs over 80.)
Their finale in the final room is a bit over the top ridiculous because...well without spoiling anything, it leaves the realm of reality.
Of course, so does the main storyline with Jigsaw's replacement and the FBI. Hollywood needs to figure out that the FBI isn't going to send a single agent to apprehend a serial killer. (Jodie Foster wasn't there to arrest Buffalo Bob, she was doing grunt work and stumbled upon him.)
Overall, this film is half watchable and half boredom. When the half watchable part requires your brain to be pretty much off to enjoy it...that's bad.

On it's own, this film would suck monkey balls. Watched with all the others, it holds up much better.

This one was simply the shittiest in the entire franchise for me. The five losers they pick are beyond stupid. I can understand the first trap taking one of them out (actually, you have to be slow and dim for that to occur, but whatever), but by the time they got to the second trap, come the fuck on.

Yeah, the second trap was a huge slap the forehead moment. That's the point when they should have realized what was going on.
