Synopsis:
Jason Statham stretches his acting ability to the breaking point by playing a man with hair.
Review:
Guy Ritchie defies all attempts to avoid the one-hit wonder tag. Statham is a mobster who gets pinched and gets out after a few years. Upon release, he pays a visit to some old friends and hilarity ensues.
Part shitty psychological allegory, part shitty action movie. Ray Liotta goes so over the top, you'd think he was leading a charge in WWI. Big Pussy and Andre 3000 costar as plot twists so obvious, they stick out like Dennis Miller on Monday Night Football. The magic is it manages to be obvious and fucking idiotic at the same time. The climactic scene near the end has less dramatic punch than Rob Halford coming out.
Special mention for semi-coolness goes to Mark Strong (evil biz guy from <s>Kick</s>Suck-ass) for his portrayal of a triggerman, although it's really the character and not the actor here.
Verdict:
Rewatch Snatch and remember the good days of Guy Ritchie instead of his current stint as creatively drained Eurotrash.

Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch make him, at the very least, a two hit wonder. His Sherlock Holmes movies were hits. (I only saw the first one and it was good.) I've also heard The Man From U.N.C.L.E. is good.
