Bicentennial Man

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

Yes, this is the older one with Robin Williams. I've actually never seen it before tonight.

Overall, I liked it.

Robin Williams plays a robot that was turned on in the far off future of 2005. He seems to have a glitch, though... a spark of empathy and creative thought. The movie expands on that and the robot's history with the family that purchased him.... 4 or 5 generations of them. It is an interesting, primitive, if somewhat simple examination of how an AI would be accepted by society, almost a child's version of the argument given the lack of fucking-over he receives through the movie, but it was worth seeing once.

Honestly, I don't remember. I know I read the story about 30 years ago, but remember almost nothing.

I no longer remember the movie, but I do recall thinking that the short story was better.
