Was on TV last night. I haven't seen it since it was out in the cinema, but I remember it being absolutely fucking horrible back then. It seems significantly less horrible now. Not good, but notches better than the profitless bomb rep it has.

Yeah, that movie came out at a weird time.... it was critiquing the notion of the big action movies at exactly the time audiences were growing bored with the big action movies, and it itself was a big action movie. Very meta unto itself.

The stupidest mistake was going for a PG-13 rating. Because I want a self-aware genre parody with no titties or fucks in a genre filled with such.
