A franchise that keeps producing games inferior to its competitor from 15 plus years ago before EA bought them out and castrated the fun.

In addition, the team with the lead often receives kick-offs deeper in its own territory and are more likely to fumble or throw interceptions to help level the gameplay to encourage closer games. This is often called "Getting Midwayed," and is often frustrating for players in the lead.

The least realistic football game ever made, but offered fun on par with and even in excess of Tecmo Bowl.

NFL 2K5 was easily the greatest football game of all time.

Funny how right after that game was released (For $20 at that!) EA got exclusive rights to NFL games. Its a damned shame, never could go back to Madden after that game.

Madden NFL‍ 's developers "for 10 years have been haunted by NFL 2K5 — in forums, in comments, in social media — that nothing they do could be as good as something that by now really isn't a video game, but a mythological ideal that grows more romantic with every year".
