I think I can argue that The Rock has taken over Schwarzenegger's mantle. He's today's primary action star.
This movie shocked me by being good.
They throw a nice twist into the standard Hercules storytelling that I won't spoil for you, but it's cool. Marvel did a similar thing with Thor in the beginning of their Ultimate universe.
The film's plot is solid enough to get you through. There's one pretty large plot point that would unravel the whole thing if you focus on it, so don't.
This is old school action with updated effects. Reminds me a lot of Conan.

I was wondering if you folks duped by The Legend of Hercules would notice that The Rock's far superior version had hit Netflix.
