Though often viewed by non-furries as a sexual fetish, that is not a necessary component of the fandom.

Though often viewed by non-chemists as an instrument of death, chlorine gas is not necessary a means to murder.

I just find the whole story hilarious. Who wants to kill furries?

Paul.
It's not me, it's someone else.

When I initially saw this story this morning... I thought damn near everybody wanted to kill them. Or at least really disliked them.

My favorite was some local reporting that it was "some kind of sci-fi convention"

I was like, yea, and a strip-club is "some kind of fancy buffet restaurant"

gassing furries shouldn't be funny, but in the moment, and knowing nobody got killed? fucking hilarious

That was my thought. Though it was funnier before I found out it was intentional.

Nineteen people in the hospital isn't all that funny. Even if none of them are dead yet.

I never understood the hatred for Furries. I get that they can seem silly. And if you find one that's sexually abusing animals then that's a crime and they should be tried for it. But for most of them it's a harmless but weird quirk. Hardly deserving of hatred.

At first glance, I thought this was just a tear gas like you disperse a riot with.

Poisoning a bunch of people with chlorine gas isn't funny in retrospect. Furries are still people, somewhere down in there.

They fall in the same category as transvestites do for me for some reason. Should matter to me what they do (and really I guess it doesn't), but it just kind of creeps me out.
