Spiderman 2 - No Spoilers

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

I don't think I've given anything away here, but if you're totally set on no spoilers at all, then stop reading and hit BACK.

Not at all shitty.

If you don't like dialogue and character development, this movie is not for you. Its 2 hours long and the majority is spent on Peter Parker, the man. In that respect, its VERY faithful to the comic.

The acting was definately uped a notch. Toby is even more intense than in the first one, the guy is playing J. Jonah Jamison is AWESOME, Kirsten took acting lessons, and the guy playing Doc Ock is just fantastic. Franco (Osbourne's kid) actually came down a notch for me in this one as he is better playing a spoiled rich kid than a spoiled rich kid looking for vengence.

For the faithful comic readers, I don't really think there were many major gaffes. Some newbs might think one particular thing occurs WAYYYY too much in the film (you'll figure it out), but when you do figure it out remember this: each time it occurs, it DID occur in the comic.

With that in mind, the major problem with the film and the series is that its in fast forward. They have to rush all of the plotlines because real people age and audiences get bored. So forgive them for that. Personally, I still think this series is the best superhero series put to film, and that's coming from a guy that grew up with the X-Men. (Of course, that might mean I'm overly critical of them...)

If you liked the first one, you'll like this, just remember that it is more about character than action. Although, the action is great. The fights are pretty good.

For you ladies, my S.O. enjoyed it and she's not at all into superhero or action movies.

Saw it and liked it. Have seen it 1.5 times. They did a good job keeping things interesting, even though it was a sequal. If you liked the first, you should like this one. If you haven't seen the first, it should still be a good movie for you because they incorporate the first one, but they give enough info for you to understand. Or something. I'd watch it if I were you.

I liked number 2 even more than the original, felt the same way about Xmen 2. What is it about superhero sequels being even better, maybe it's cause they don't have to spent that time introducing characters us comic book fans already know.

And yes whether its playing a shrink on Law and Order, a psycho on Oz, J.Jamison here, or the yellow M&M J.K. Simmons kicks ass (and sometimes burns a tattoo on one).

I thought about searching. Figured the last review was probably wiped out in the latest (of many) board crashes because this place sucks. :-)

Every search I've tried failed.

But I've only tried twice. Maybe after each of those crashes :)

This movie sucked even harder than the first one. Crap on a stick.

I liked it better than the first one, mainly because the Green Goblin was so damn annoying.

Now if we could just get rid of that whiney Peter Parker, these movies would be okay.

At this point, I'm thinking this is high praise from Malcolm.

The only thing this movie has on the first one is that the villain was better. Fucking things still ranks in at -9 stars. (Yes, that's a negative). To paraphrase Al Bundy, I'd rather play naked twister with all the Golden Girls than see this piece of shite again.

Thing is, Hatey Smurf's average movie review is -9.5 stars, so a rating of -9 stars is, from him, high praise.
