Really, facebook people?
A little girl wanted to know what the United States looked like. Her dad tore a map of the USA from a magazine and cut it into small pieces. He told her to go to her room and see if she can put it together. After some minutes she returned and handed the map correctly fitted and taped together. The dad was surprised and asked how she finished so quickly. She said "On the other side was a picture of Jesus and when I put him back then our country just came together." Copy and paste if you believe

Hmm, i guess I just copy and pasted. ???

But really, the problem with the US is Not Enough Jesus?

I have deleted A LOT of people from my friend list for daily bible quotes. I was unfriending one person per day, for a while. I've got it pretty whittled down at this point.

When I was uncertain if I wanted to accept a friend request from someone I haven't seen for 20 years, I would friend them and give them a probation. If they are funny, they get to stay.... if they are vocally religious or liberal, they get the axe. Even the hot girls, because at this age being hot aint enough.

One of the guys in my band posts the most ridiculous liberal hippy bullshit all the time, but he's also a pretty funny and talented guy. So I tolerate it.

I've even put a close family member on "mute" for a week, when he/she wouldn't shut up about how awesome *liberal position* was. He/she didn't know it, though. After I took him/her off mute it was fine.

I wish I could do that. I like to argue too much to do something like that.

Instead of mute, I'd be hitting the "attack their position" button.

It just isn't worth arguing, to me, any more. I am more likely to just troll.... Fark threads are good for that. Find someone who feels strongly about something, make a cutting, sarcastic remark that actually makes a point undercutting their ideas, add a mild insult like, "You should read more history, you may learn something," and then never go back to that thread to see them respond.

It's sort of fun.

I find people, when confronted by ideas contrary to their belief systems, are more likely to retreat into a defensive position than actually learn anything. This causes anger and hurt feelings and I just don't care any more.

I'm all about avoiding the drama, these days.

Yeah, I basically avoid drama too. Lots of my friends believe these hippy pipe dreams too. One was cheering CA's mandate for renewables, and I just wanted to reply "Thanks for driving more business to the rest of the states!"
