I definately do that a lot, too.

Even thought I know it's wrong, it just looks right to me. De-fin-at-ly is about how I say it, so it's what my fingers do when I type it. I have no idea what the correct way to spell it is, I have to look it up every time I want to use it.

I always tied it to "finite" in my brain. I got no idea why that works, though.
