OH snap! Devs acknowledged that some people are getting their starter packs multiple times. The one with the extra gold and stones and gliders and shit. But, they said that none of it can be sold/traded so not a game breaking thing. Then people are saying "Ummm, yes you can. I'm selling mine for 20 silver each." People are pointing out that the extra stones, or whatever are allowing people to buy massive guild houses, or something. Basically, the game is duping starter kits at an alarming rate. Oh, then of course other people aren't getting theirs at all!
So, it's similar to UO? Where having houses close to towns was good for foot traffic, etc. However, in UO, you had recall, so it really didn't matter where your house was.
So, in the end, you anticipate plenty of land for people, but most of it will be in inconvenient locations where you have to travel long distances to get anything done?

The report I read was that the server was issuing gliders, costumes and something else multiple times, but no big deal because it is not game breaking or sellable. Other people are reporting being able to sell their gliders for 20 silver each. They aren't buying multiple starter packs at 150 each. They are buying one, and the server is giving them the rewards multiple times. But they said the guilda stone reward thing is NOT being rewarded multiple times. Some people say they are, but the 'devs' have not confirmed that. Probably wouldn't, either.
Ya. Kind of glad my paypal transaction wasn't going through. I'm amazed you are having the luck you are, based on what I'm reading. I was starting to think that maybe it was the same few people just raging in that thread. But, there are a ton of 1-3 post count posters in there.
People are really fearing 4 days from now when the flood gates of free players try to join.
To own land/house, you have to have patron, right? Which means you are paying a monthly fee of some kind, right?

Restarted and back in the hour long queue. Had a good run. Second character at 9. But stuck on the Gildar quests. I can still get a farm at 10, but it's bullshit i can't get another house because the main quest line is broken for me. At least I can recall back and try to fix it.

So here's the other thing. I figured there would be plenty of room, but it's not looking like that at all.
You can, when you don't own land or just want a gigantic crop of something. Plant illegal farms. Like, mexico cartels growing weed in National parks.
They are just like regular plants, trees, sheep, plants. But anyone can pick them up. You can either try to hide these, or put them in pvp zones and protect them? Dunno. It'll be a thing, especially with land being so scarce.

Ya, I saw that you can plant unprotected stuff, but anyone can take it, kill it, etc.
Just found: No, you can not own land without patron status. Well, you can, but you can't pay taxes on it, which means you lose your land when your taxes run out. They did this so people couldn't create multiple free accounts and fill up all the land! hehe Just seems funny that their handful of paying customers have already done that within hours of game launch. And I predicted 6 months!!
Ya. Selling your land is going to be profitable, I think.
