My first thought was why? Does anyone actually live there?

Yes, and there's a city. Their capital, Nuuk.

A third of the country's population lives there, which is almost 20k people. That's a third of their population.

They are the size of 3 Texases, and 80% of their country is ice. That's like 2.6 Texases worth of ice.

They have no military, only a small coast guard (the danish navy, actually, which consists of a total of 3400 people) to "protect" 28k miles of coastline.

So yeah, it would be a funny troll for Trump to drop in the goofiest combat soldiers we have (army guys, obviously. Maybe even someone like the Ohio national guard) to plant a flag and claim Greenland is now annexed, so have some food stamps and welfare and massively high health insurance costs.

I'd have no problem with it, for comedy reasons.

I thought it was a repeat as well, but the news aggregator keeps telling me about it.

But it made me realize I knew nothing about Greenland.
