You sound like my sister! I thought it was the trillions in covid money that caused it.

Yes, he was the president who signed the legislation for the trillions in covid money.

And, now he's the president who wants to tax every good we import, reduce federal taxes, and put us crazy far into debt.

True but they both made stupid comments. Their base liked the comments - the other side hated and said they were offended. Puerto Ricans and Hatians were a voting block and Trump and team shit on them pretty hard. Biden did the same and called the R's garbage.

The young vote was the wild one. Should be Harris landslide. Was not.

My kid said he heard cheering on campus at 2am when Fox called it for trump.

My kid also lost a bet and now has to eat a ghost pepper.

I get this is a rejection of the status quo in government - but I have zero faith in Trump having the intellectual capability to positively conduct and effect the change needed. He's a funny, charismatic, evil, narcissist who historically will put himself first and America second.

But he's not going to be the driving, fixing, force of change he's elected to be. He's losing it hard at his age. There is little doubt. Like Biden now. So who is our savior here? Elon Musk? JD Vance?

I'd like to know a little more about Vance. I don't know a thing about his Marine experience.... that would tell me a lot about him.

If he was enlisted, his stint as VP will be hilarious. If he was a grunt, slightly less so.... or more so, depending on his brain. The fact he wrote a book is a good sign that he may not be humorless.

I lost both my bets, but I used pretend money, so they didn't matter.

Initially, no. However, she revealed herself to be kind of shit. Although, we could debate on how much shit was because of the treatment by the MSM.

This is not wrong, CNN had an article up last night that most voters knew who they were voting for in September.

A couple of interesting notes:
-Looks like Trump will win the popular vote too, so there goes the "Rs will never win another election without the Electoral College" narrative.
-20M fewer voters in 2024 vs 2020. Interesting because there was a pandemic in 2020.
-#DoNotConcedeKamala and #Recount2024 are both trending on X. Also, "Red Wave Mirage" was a thing early last night. Remember this whenever you say election denying is a right wing thing.
-I have seen (and spoke to personally) a lot of FAR left people who genuinely believed and were hearing in their echo chambers that Kamala in a landslide was a lock.

And Biden kept the money train rolling. They both did it.

Also, I kind of feel like it was more than just Trump and/or Biden. They may have been 'in charge', but they couldn't just say "Write a fuck ton of checks because I said so". So really it's "All of the people we had elected during both Trump's and Biden's terms did it". I feel like people put WAY too much stock in who the president actually is when assigning fault. At most, the president can campaign for things. But they can't just 'do stuff' that effects things so strongly.

No. Biden's policies cut the money supply from previous policy.

How? And why did inflation stay so high? Kind of feel like 'if' he did anything, he didn't do enough. I remember unemployment being extended multiple times (even though there was a massive labor shortage). I feel like there were other lingering 'free money' things as well, but I can't name them because I honestly pay so little attention because I've given up.

According to Google, the third stimulus check was mailed in March of '21. Evidence the money train had not been stopped.

Check the graphs I posted when we discussed it.

Money takes a long time to move. Its effects are also felt for a long time. It's not like a policy from July 2020 stops being felt January 2021 just because the present changed.

From the early voting demographics, it seems the American Latinos and Asians saw the overt racism and LEANED IN. It’s codified as American, it would appear.

What overt racism? Need context. Because there are lots of different flavors.

Many Haitains do eat dogs, PR does have environmental problems and a high number of superfund sites, And anyone who crosses the border illegally is, by definition, a criminal.

I don't know what demographic cared about "fake black..." are you being racist and saying black people did?

Heyo.

Anyway yeah, whatever, but the USA did not invent racism. In fact, in my travels and research, I'd submit that the USA is pretty tame on the global racism scale.

I'M NOT BACKING OFF MY MOST PEOPLE ARE GARBAGE OPINION. I just think it's more basic and selfish than that, and race is just another avenue toward it.
