FFS
Audie, that's been a striking piece of information to emerge today. As our colleague Jim Acosta just reported on air, Nevada election officials are saying young voters don't have any experience signing their own names, and thus can't match their signatures for verification purposes.

Have been hearing howling since early on today, but it seems overwhelming now, Trump is winning across the board. All those polls were right.

Anyways, president trump. Sigh
Still pretty early, though it is amusing that the important states are like being super slow to call it for trump because they just dont want to believe it's true.
Nah, it was clear from the early returns how they compared to 2020 that it was over early. All you need is to compare a few counties across a few states. It was already over. I called it first :)

As funny as the howling is, and I'll appreciate the YT vids of it later, I really am curious what happens when he gets sentenced for his felony convictions, later.

But I've been assured this is the end of democracy, so maybe he'll just say something like "Oh wont someone rid me of that meddlesome justice department" or some such thing.

Maybe next time that side should call the other side garbage even louder. Maybe it would stick.

edit - Catt was indeed the first person I saw call it.

American voter: We're tired of inflation.

American voter then elects the dude who created it, and will create even more inflation.

Stocks, BTC, and Bond rates are way up this morning. Mortgages just got even more unaffordable.

Just a random anecdote I didn't feel was worth sharing before:

My kid now has associates around the globe. In high school there were a ton of eastern european students living in dorms, in college, he's made a bunch of foreign friends, a semester in Korea, and now months of leisure travel in Japan and Taiwan. He's kept in touch with peeps errywhere.

And he says 100% of them say they hope he votes for trump.

I have no idea why trump is so popular overseas.

Think the Republicans will have a female President before the Democrats do. Be surprised if they try again for a decade.

I think they were tired of other things more.

The question for Ds is will they learn from this and come back towards the center? They just ran the farthest left candidate they've ever had and they lost everything.

Also, it's 2024 and the world is no longer as big. Honestly, if you haven't figured it out yet you don't belong anywhere near authority. You can no longer run contradictory ads depending on location, pander to audience with different accents, and talk out of both sides of your mouth so much that Bernie Sanders publicly states you'll say anything to win.

Silver lining for Ds: The Rs sweeping everything means they'll claim this is a mandate from the people, pass a bunch of shit nobody wants, and we'll see a blue wave in 2026. We've all seen this movie before.

Interesting. I don't think she lost because she's a woman. I think she lost because she was a terrible candidate. Three months of the MSM pretending she's awesome was not going to beat the Cult of Personality.

I thought McCain running with Palin was a brilliant move.

But then she got assassinated by the media. I didn't realize how women-hating they would go to win an election.

I'm just going by exit polls. I guess they won't say "We don't like women candidates"

Right now, I think Biden's "garbage" comment did legitimate damage. That late in the game I suspect it got a lot of fence-sitters, like I was (general disdain for both sides), to go ahead and vote against the D's. If I hadn't already sent in a mail-in ballot, that comment may have made me vote vindictively.

Well, probably not, because I have an over-developed sense of integrity. But I would have considered it. ANd that means a lot of the more reactive people would have been swayed.

I really don't know a ton about her.... I know someone said she was in charge of the border that everyone was generally unhappy with, and she said nuh-uh, and someone else said uh-huh. I don't get a sense she was all that intelligent. I know she didn't get much love at primaries 4 years ago, and that made her feel like a desperation move to replace the dementia patient.

But at least she wasn't 80, probably the best thing I know about her.

Seems like her "america's kindly gym coach" running mate may have had a better chance at winning. Too bad the people running the D party (I'm not going to assume they're democrats, I'm going to assume they're capitalists) seem to be painfully stupid, at the moment, and just threw her in on the ticket in a panic. Imagine if they'd considered for a few more days.

"Assassinated by the media" is really underselling what they did to her. Not that she didn't deserve it, but the treatment she got versus any D candidate ever should be Exhibit A in any "Is there a MSM bias" trial.

Despite the gaslighting of voters, she was 100% placed in charge of the border during Biden's term. It's very easily researched. She also called Trump's border wall stupid previously and had a very awkward exchange with Anderson Cooper on live TV when he asked her about that comment versus her new stance of believing we need a border wall.

Anyone see how Oliver did nationally? CNN's coverage of non-D/R candidates really sucks.

Probably the best local election ad I heard was for something local... maybe an Ohio representative. Talked about how this person pushed to allow trans-men into women's sports. The tagline was, "He's for they/them, not you."

Tapped into that "alternative pronouns are stupid" energy that the majority of people think, but keeps to themselves. R's took a lot of Ohio (sigh), so it probably worked.

I don't think she DID deserve it. I've never seen another candidate have their wardrobe budget published, child's parentage questioned while simultaneously claiming slandering another underage daughter, husband's job put on blast, and with Tina Fey lampooned so hard and continuously on SNL that most people couldn't tell them apart side by side. And claiming she was serious when she said "I can see russia from my house" is still super unfair, when Obama got a pass for "57 states" that was clearly also a joke.

I don't know. I thought she was a good choice, at first. Turns out D women will devour an R women way faster than an R man. I hadn't expected that, I still had faith in people way back then.... before I learned they were mostly garbage.

Clean election - no hanging chads.

"Pro Business" candidate.

To reply to some other posts above, I'm not seeing this as a "little things" type of election that was decided by a small amount of votes. He won by hundreds of thousands in the swing states. This is a big picture win, not due to stupid or dumb comments made in October. Policy, messaging, etc.

But fence sitters did exist. And I bet the dumb comment swayed them.
