The Wendy's by my current office just "Closed until further notice for maintenance."
The Wendy's less than 30 seconds from my new office had a fire back in Feb and is still "Temporarily closed."

Is this the end of all the ones that still have the sun rooms?

I had a love/hate relationship with them, honestly. Like sometimes I was like "This is wonderful" and then other times it was just too bright or hot.

There are still a couple in the area, but they are no longer Wendy's.

Interesting how it has trending issues. 3 years ago it was undercounting, now it's habitually overcounting (even with the new President, same trend, so it wasn't a 'last biden year issue')

I have actually wondered for a few years now how private industry jobs keep getting added in large numbers despite:
-Automation
-Jobs always being sent overseas
-AI
-The Wall St effect, which encourages constant layoffs and skeleton crews

At the end of the day, automation still sucks at a lot of things. Especially service jobs. Can't send service jobs overseas.
Economy grows, people demand stuff, people get hired.

Automation does, yes, but it is improving.

The tech podcast I listen was discussing AI and some CEO or something said, "People think AI is going to take jobs. No, we're going to need more people actually."
I wondered if anyone actually believed that line of shit.

What a single adult needs to make to live comfortably in all 50 states.
TLDR: The average U.S. salary is much lower than any of the numbers in here.

What's the percentage of the population living by the 50/30/20 rule? 3%? "Record credit card debit" isn't happening because people are following that rule.SmartAsset defines "comfortable" as earning enough to follow the 50/30/20 budget method, which recommends putting 50% of your income toward essentials like rent and food, 30% toward discretionary spending and 20% toward debt repayment and savings.

I feel like the threshold to hit 5% would be more useful than the average of the top 5% since it's so top-heavy.

I can see that. The bad people abuse things. Question is how to fire them/not hire them in the first place.CEO Ryan Breslow said undefined PTO policies mean "the good ones don't take PTO" and "the bad ones take too much."
Instead, Bolt employees will get four mandatory paid weeks off, the CEO said.

Impossible. Even good employees can go through periods of burnout, personal issues, etc.
The ones you want to avoid are the toxic ones. I can deal with someone being a bit lazy or not having every skill, IF they have a good attitude. A lazy, unskilled worker with an attitude, particularly a false sense of self worth, is the worst.
