Washington punched their ticket. Good for Penix. That might have locked up the Heisman for him too.

So the final four in the CFP should be:
1. Cheaters - Undefeated conf champ
2. Washington - Undefeated conf champ
3. Texas - 1 loss conf champ w/ win over SEC conf champ
4. FSU - Undefeated conf champ
This is the best possible scenario for the cheaters too. FSU without their star QB should be an easier path victory. Meanwhile, the two real threats will eliminate one. That means the Cheaters should only need to win one real game, and both of those teams have flaws.
The only variable I see here is that the committee could swap 3 and 4. Honestly, an undefeated conf champ should be ranked above a one loss conf champ. Plus, it'd be a fuck you to the cheaters by giving them, what should be, a more difficult opponent.
What it will probably be:
1. Cheaters
2. Washington
3. Texas
4. Alabama - Can't leave the SEC out because ESPN owns a stake in their success. Ignore that they should have two losses, but Auburn doesn't know how to defend a 4th and goal from the 31 yard line on the last play of the game.
The only variable here is that I could absolutely see Texas getting railroaded and FSU being in that spot. I can already hear the committee saying, "Well, we couldn't leave out FSU and Bama is playing much better now than they did earlier this year when Texas beat them. Plus, Texas' loss is worse than Bama's."
I truly believe another aspect of this is Bama is the team that has the best chance of knocking off the cheaters. If you believe the powers that be don't want a vacated title, this is their play.
Outside shots:
Georgia - I really don't know how you get Georgia in at this point. Leaving out Texas is the only possible way, and Texas beat the team that beat GA, so...
OSU - Still has a strong resume and definitely stronger than Georgia's. Only loss coming on the road to the #3 team and by less than a TD with one controversial call occurring in the game that was the difference.
Why do I even mention the outside shots despite me believing neither has any chance of being in the final four? Because there is still a wildcard possibility that the NCAA acts before the bowl games. Remember, they want the investigation wrapped by Dec 21st. It's highly, highly unlikely this plays out, but if it does and the cheaters are deemed ineligible before the bowl games, then FSU, GA, or OSU could be moved into the #4 slot. Honestly, the Blake Corrum-Connor Stalions business alone should be enough to make this ruling. IF it truly is illegal for a player to be involved with a coach in an official business, then the evidence is irrefutable that Corrum was ineligible all season. If that isn't illegal, then unless the FBI makes a big move, I expect we won't hear anything about the inevitable punishment until the spring.
Again, that's all just what if bullshit.
My official prediction:
1. Cheaters
2. Washington
3. FSU
4. Alabama
Bama-Washington title game.

This is what happened.
The CFP has no credibility. They're saying they would have left out 2014 OSU, who was down to their 3rd string QB, and who won it all.
One team will vacate any wins and another bumped an undefeated FSU team just so the SEC could be in the final.

BTW, I do think FSU would have lost to: Cheaters, Washington, Texas, Bama, GA, OSU, and Oregon. However, they still deserved to be in the final four.

I think the big difference is, theirs was called incomplete. Had ours been ruled incomplete, or an interception, that call would have stood as well.
I don't know enough about Alabama and FSU to comment there. I can only say the people that definitely know more than me kept saying that FSU isn't one of the best 4 teams right now because of the QB issue. Those people were the ones providing commentary during Saturday's game. I don't know if they are biased, etc. Is the FSU QB a big step down from their first string? They said "FSU deserves to be there, but they aren't one of the best 4 teams right now". I don't remember what they were saying about Alabama. With Washington being slow low on the odds, are they even a best 4 right now?

McCord enters portal.
Day wouldn’t even commit to him being the starter for the bowl game.
FSU did that all.
If FSU was in the SEC, they'd be in.

Yeah, I said that previously. Just pointing out that the cheaters absolutely benefitted from an incorrect call.
FSU scheduled LSU to get a big name win on their resume. They won and then proceeded to win all of their games and the ACC title. They have a statistically top tier D. The committee has said SOS matters, your record matters, your wins and losses matter, and conference championships matter.Cakedaddy wrote: ↑Sun Dec 03, 2023 9:19 pm I don't know enough about Alabama and FSU to comment there. FYI, ESPN is ranking everyone in the portal.
McCord is the 8th ranked QB and 12th player overall as of right this second.
I expect Devin Brown will transfer as well if he doesn't get the start against Missouri.
However, next year should see a battle between incoming FR Air Nolan (if he doesn't decommit) and red shirt FR Lincoln Kienholz unless Day does grab someone out of the portal.
WR Julian Fleming is also in the portal. He was the #1 overall recruit in 2020, but he never really panned out. He's had flashes, but he doesn't separate well and has drops. He tends to disappear a lot.

I'm hearing McCord or his dad and Day met this weekend and they needed Day to declare McCord the starter now. He wouldn't do so, and thus, McCord hits the portal. I heard this earlier in the day, and apparently, SI is reporting it as well.
Get used to this as this is now college football. Get paid and/or get starting time so you can go to the league to get paid.

Who's on the cover?
Who do you want on the cover? Who do you think it will be? Who do you NOT want on the cover?
Want: I only know Michigan players, so I want Mcarthy or Edwards. But Michigan was on the last cover (even though it was 2014), and I doubt they'll do two in a row.
Pick: Since I know nothing about everyone else, I have no idea. I'd guess Penix, because I hear his name a lot. But I don't even know if he'll be back next year. Is Harrison back next year? I have no idea who to pick.
NOT: Anyone from OSU Dion Sanders. I keep reading his name because of various reasons. Infinity times no. I'd take someone from OSU before him.

I don't care so long as in the background there is a typical sideline full of people and one of them needs to be Connor Stalions wearing spy glasses.

New question. I don't normally seek headlines, news, etc. But I have been exposed to a handful of articles about OSU players leaving. I saw a list of 5 or so entering the portal with Harrison being a possible addition.
Obviously you'd miss Harrison. How impactful were the others, and is it true?
