By the way, it seems there's some backtracking going on:
Sounds less like backtracking and more like clarification?
The article would have been informative with facts, and maybe even interviews with both sides, instead of comments solely interspersed from conservative commentators.
Last year our oldest basically called us transphobic because we believe that biological women should not compete with trans women. I didn't take it personally though because she's young and trying on new ideas. It sounded a lot of it just came from people she was around. Today. She decided she had changed her mind and the biological women should only compete against other biological women. Turns out a friend of hers made the national championships in rock climbing and there was a trans woman crushing the entire competition

Kind of sounds like Jesse Jackson scam of the 90s/2000s. "Nice white-owned business you got there. Be a shame if it got picketed by my Rainbow Coalition. Say, would you like to donate?"
Good pull. That's exactly what this is like.

To be fair, it wasn't an article.
This is apparently a clip of her discussing the campaign with Dylan. (Sorry Travis is a right winger, but I cannot find this lady's interview on left wing Twitter.) She says "campaign". Why would you use campaign with something that is a one time print and not for sale? Also, Dylan was doing a lot of stuff with Bud Light over the weekend on her social media accounts.

"social media campaign"
She clearly says "campaign" and never says "social media", and honestly, is there any difference anymore? In my very recent marketing classes, the answer was no.
Is there a way to see the sales of Bud Light prior to this and maybe a week from now? Let's see if it worked. And I believe it might. Even bad press is good press, right?

Probably not. You'd have to wait for quarterly results.
I've been noticing a quiet marketing move to pivot to other beers.... Which all happen to be owned by the same company. So the parent company probably won't lose any money, overall, the way the would in a just universe.
I'm guessing she'll get some sort of "no such thing as bad publicity" marketing award.

That has been kind of funny watching people say they're going to another beer without knowing it's owned by the same people.
It's like when people were leaving Facebook for Instagram.
Words are important. When you use words incorrectly it sends the wrong message. Maybe we shouldn't be calling trans people "brave"...

If you wonder why people would claim to be trans, that video is exhibit A. It gets them attention because they're "marginalized". They feel important. It gives their life purpose.
This has been the biggest complaint by actual trans people about this current fad.

Do you think the average person truly understands that corporations don't give two shits about them or their causes?
Bud Light does a trans can because they're trying to boost sales. If hitting people in the head with full cans thrown with intent to injure would increase sales, they'd do that instead.

BTW, not sure if I mentioned this previously, but there are transpeople questioning Dylan Mulvaney's transition and whether or not it's real or an act. He was a very outlandish actor prior to transitioning. Supposedly, she's been on some meds for over a year, but has shown no breast growth and peeps are now suggesting the meds aren't being taken.
It really would be something if the most famous transperson right now was a fraud.

I saw someone claim today their sales were down 30% (an official source, not some dude), which I believe. However, I would be curious if that stands for long. Time heals all wounds, and so do sales...
If boycotts don't work though, then why the holy hell do corporations cave to bullshit mobs all the time?

Because they're afraid one will work eventually? I dunno.
