Has anyone ever had a problem with multiple systems on your LAN playing at once? We are getting a lot of "Server Disconnects" while both playing.

Hoping it was just because we were taxing DL bandwidth installing STEAM stuff.

Aaaaand fixing my overheating problems, then boosting my power levels back up to "Performance," and I just ran a game with video maxed, and no lockups.

So ok then.

That link is for a CN9-AH build.

Some of you might own it as it was a mech you could win for free over some weekend in the past. If so, you might want to use that build instead of the one it comes with.

It cost just over 6 million c-bills to get it to that build.

Just FYI, it comes with an AC20 on the right arm and an LRM in the left torso, but that build doesn't make a lot of sense. One's a close range weapon, and the other is long range. The build we linked drops the LRMs for SRMs. Stranger looked up the quirks on the Centurion and he gets a bunch of bonuses for the AC20, so don't dump it.

Had my best game ever in a Jenner earlier today and still battling the flu.

I used my JR7-F.

131 match score, 5 kills, 7 assists, and 819 damage.

I beat everyone on both teams in those categories except assists (1 guy had 8).

Knocked out a 100 point match with my CTF-1X right after that too.

So I picked up a JM6-S (JagerMech Ballistic version). It's really cool so far I think, it's classified as a heavy and is setup with 4 Ballistics slots, and 2 Energy slots. It came stock, with 2 Medium lasers on the center torso, and then an AC-2 and an AC-5 on each arm (4 Auto cannon's total). I almost immediately fell in love with this Mech, because the auto cannons are freaking amazingly awesomely sexily tastily fucking KINKY. Goodness, I really really like the ballistics weapon options, hate the energy weapons with a burning passion (They're quite difficult to aim, and you can't turn the damn things off. Very very bad weapons choice in my honest opinion when compared to your other options), and I haven't tried the missile weapons yet, but I feel like those would be fun to use with ballistics.

So anyway, fell in love instantly. I've played at least a good 20 games with the JM6 now and have really gotten a feel for it, so I decided to start really customizing her. First, I saved up bills and replaced all 4 auto cannons (2 AC-2's/2 AC-5's) with 2 AC-20's. Now let me break this build down for you, in terms you can better understand. . . . . I get within 300 meters of my target, fire a salvo or two, and proceed to FUCK SHIT UP. That's really it. AC-20's demolish shit. That's really all there is to this strategy. . . . =D

So now that I've got a setup for my new JagerMech that gets me at least 1 kill every game, I decided to kinda start experimenting to a degree with new builds/ideas. Next I'm going to try gauss rifles, I was thinking maybe 1 gauss and keep the other arm an AC-20. I also need to save up for an engine, and I forsure need a dual heatsink, those AC-20's + the 2 stupid Medium Lasers overheat really quick in the heat of a 1v1 battle.

Got all but 2 of my basic skills researched for my JM6-S JagerMech, so a few more games and he'll be my first elite mech aswell! Pretty cool. Now you guys just need to start playing more then just a game during lunch heheh. . . . . This game is boring as shit to play alone!

The Jager is an awesome mech and one thing you probably haven't realized is the advantage you gain having your ACs mounted up high as opposed to low on my Cataphract. You can peek over things and take shots I can't take.

Did you happen to look at the quirks for that Jager? Looks like it gets additional cooldown for the AC2s and velocity on AC5s. Might want to rethink your build to take advantage of that. (In the Mechlab hover your mouse over the mech and on the right a window will appear with the quirks listed.)

This game is boring as shit to play alone!

How do you play alone? Every match I'm in has 23 other players...

I find it fun no matter what, but clearly the most fun is when you have a group.

Didn't he say he has to wait 2 weeks or something?

Hey Stranger, I'm working on Centurions. I already own the CN9-A© and CN9-AH(listed as a C, but not...?).

Think I should buy the CN9-D with a build that does a 50 point alpha or or the CN9-YLW as it's on sale?

I also own the JM6-S. Very powerful mech. I have 2 AC2s and 2 AC5s with an XL300 in it. It can do lots of damage and the high ballistics hard points are fantastic. But I've found it to get its side torsos get blown off real quick and I have trouble staying alive. But the Jagers are some of the best ballistic carriers in the game. The dual AC20s is the definition of a glass cannon on that mech.

We can change to TKV when our current contract is up, that should be by next week I believe. We'll have to create a new unit, no problem there.

Leisher, I know the YLW is a really popular hero mech and u get the bonus 30% c-bills when using them on top of the premium bonus. Not sure of the builds for them right off hand because I'm on my phone right now, but I know if ur gonna pick a hero mech u can't go wrong with that one.

I seem to have come up over a hump. Just played 5 games, wrecked in all 5. I'm maxing out the xp on my third Cicada. Way back when I bought him, I wanted to try out ballistics, so I bought the version with 4 ballistic hard points. Never knew what to put on him though. AC2s seemed dumb because they only do 2 points of damage. So I tried to force an AC5 on him. I never had any ammo though. Scrapped that and went back to AC2. Wasn't doing well, but the grind was moving forward none the less. Gotta get it done. Also, saving up for a Cataphract so I can be as cool as Leisher is. Then the other night I figured out why my PC has been running like shit. I'm embarrassed to say how long I was living with shitty performance because of that power saving mode I was running in. Frame rates always went to shit and the game sucked to play because of it. I just figured it was a shitty game and sloshed through the matches anyway. But, with my new found frame rates, I can actually hit my targets WAY better than I used to. Then, tonight I discovered something awesome. Was watching a guy with 4 large lasers. All were assigned to button '1'. But, he fired nonstop. Had a constant pulse laser scarring his targets. Hmmm. I looked, and each gun was firing after the first one stopped. By the time the fourth laser was done shooting, the first one had cooled down and shot again. That's cool! That must be that 'chain fire' thing the game is CONSTANTLY telling you about. So, I go to change my key bindings so chain fire was set to my left mouse. That's when I discovered that back space toggled it on and off. OOOhhhhh. Ok. Toggled it on, set both my AC2s to button 1 and off I went into battle. Now I'm landing even MORE shots!! And they are paced so it's BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM. A constant rumble in the enemy cockpit. Instead of B-BOOM, B-BOOM when I'm just mashing my mouse buttons. Being able to just hold the mouse button down also helps with aiming. So, landing even more shots. I ended all 5 of those games with 250+ damage. Was always alive at the end of the game, or, was one of the last 3 to fall. Had 37-65 (37, 42, 45 62, 67) match points per game, which I think is pretty good for a couple AC2s on a light mech. I can pinpoint my shots so I can take out legs or arms. I don't go for torsos because they'll be so heavily armored. I only scored about 5 kills total, but I was happy to even get those doing 2 points of damage per shot. Lots of assists and spotting assists. C-Bills and XP are coming in much faster too. Had no games below 30 match points.

So, ya. What a difference troubleshooting your PC so you have adequate frame rates makes. I never bothered because all my other games ran fine. Just Mech Warriors sucked.

One game, I got targeted by this little fucker with machine guns. I thought he had lasers too, but he didn't use them much. Anyway, he singled me out and we started fighting. We were circling around and I wasn't landing many shots cause it's hard. I decided to just run straight back and kite him in a straight line so I could hit him easier. My guy was so fast that I could run backwards as fast as he could run forward! I had all my armor still, so his machine guns weren't hurting. I just aimed for his legs and kept my mouse button down. Finally, I leg him. I keep backing up a bit to get further out of his machine gun range and just stop running. Kept firing at his legs and BOOM, got the kill. Worst I had was some yellow colored torso armor.

What's this PC power saving mode you guys are talking about? I'm pretty sure its not anything within the game itself, must be a Window setting of some sort? how do I see what my PC is set at? I personally haven't had any problems with frame rates but I'd like to see what my PC is set for.

There is a windows setting that affects when your hard drives spin down but on my motherboard there are power settings. I can set it from "power saver" to pretty much "overclock" with only the software. I had mine set at power saver because of the CPU overheating issues I mentioned. And like Cake, MW was the only game that was fucking up.

Weird that MW:O was being affected by those power issues (You can find them in the Control Panel Stranger).

You guys should note that in their support forums.

Cake, glad to hear you're finding your grove with those Cicadas. But have you looked at the quirks that you get for each of the variants? I'm not sure what ones you own but it helps to see what bonuses you're getting for a particular weapon, particularly ones with reduced heat generation or cooldown reduction. You can check it out by hovering your mouse over the mechs in the mechlab or check them out here.

The power saving stuff is in Control Panel under "Power Options". When googling it, LOTS of people complaining about frame rates in MW:O. People find relief by turning off the HUD. They lose all info, but gain frame rates. People says it's just a shitty platform to run the game on. It was in one of those threads that someone mentioned power saving options. I thought "That's dumb. But I'll check anyway." But tons of people out there with frame rate issues. None of my other games had frame rate issues. However, my load times for games were really slow. Another symptom that's gone away. But frame rates were not affected because I think most games rely on the GPU for that stuff. There's some major CPU overhead going on with MW:O. And that's what people complain about. But anyway, I'm sure the devs know about it.

I will definitely be checking out the quirks. Especially on my 'sniper' build. I had that build because it was shitty frame rate friendly. I can sit way back, find stationary targets and shoot them. So that will probably be the first one I reconfigure. My ECM build is probably fine the way it is, but I'll be checking it as well.

Fixing the frame rate issue makes the game more fun because I'm actually competitive now. I had been playing with such a huge handicap before.

Are Champion mechs any good? You get the 30% bonus, but is the mech any good?
