Most mechs don't have jammers. You need good spotters though. Something Scooty might excel at if he does end up loving the lights.

Yeah, the ECM.. That's why its good to have a light in your lance with ECM so they can jam that shit. Cake has one or two on his Cicada's. Also, as an LRM gunner you should purchase the Target Decay module. They basically let you keep lock on a mech for a bit even after you (or your spotter) loses vision on them. I plan on putting one on my LRM Battlemaster soon.

That ECM add-on. I forget what it is called. Makes shit invis on radar. The worst is when you see a guy pop up on radar, target, fire, and before the missiles land he is ECMd again and the 40-missile-salvo doesn't hit. Over and over.

ECM works two ways. I didn't know that for a while.
Yes, it hides you and your allies. However, the other mode reveals peeps despite their ECM.
It's a team game and there are counters for things.

Also Gordo. to help with targeting you can get a TAG (target acquisition gear) it goes in one of your energy hardpoints and counters ECM.
TAG is a very effective way to nullify the sensor scrambling abilities of ECM. When a 'Mech with ECM is lased with TAG, they are immediately revealed on all friendly units radar. The spotting 'Mech must remain outside the range of the enemies ECM for it to be able to relay the sensor and targeting information to friendly 'Mechs.
TAG will also provide XP and C-Bill rewards. This reward is given to pilots that are TAGing a hostile and that hostile takes damage from other friendlies. Given once per hostile 'Mech per match.

Scooty is used to Counter Strike. Aim, shoot, kill, repeat. He's going to have a hard time coming to terms with the light damage of lights. They do kill, but they have to pick their targets well, and you have to be pretty good. Circle strafing, keeping your cross hairs on the target, not over heating, not getting blown up is hard.
Tell him to focus component damage and hitting the backs of other lights. Remember that time I got a one shot kill on a light? I hit him square in the back with a 6 medium laser burst and down he went.

I believe that today is the last day of our unit's contract with Steiner. Does anyone have a preference on what faction we go with? I kind of like playing for Steiner (blue fist) because we border with a few Clan factions and those are fun to fight against. They are OP and are slowly making their way into Steiner territory, but I like the option to play against them when we want too. Plus a lot of the pros and streamers are playing as Clan factions and Leisher and I like to troll those guys. So if anyone has any exception to me extending our contract with Steiner i'll be doing that, maybe for a 2-4 week period this time so that we can get larger loyalty point bonuses.
Here's a time lapse map of the change of territories over the past week. The Clan factions are the 4 small ones at the top of the map (Clans Jade Falcon, Wolf, Ghost Bear, Smoke Jaguar). You can see that Clan Jade Falcon (green bird) and Clan Wolf (red wolf) have made progress into Steiner territory. Clan Ghost Bear looks to be tearing an new asshole into the other Clan territories right now, they might be a force to be reckoned with once they have access to IS planets.

Yeah, when I made the unit I wasn't even thinking about the letters. Infact it was before we were really playing Archeage and had our guild together, and I didn't particularly remember TKV was our LOL letters until after I made it.Cakedaddy wrote:My only issue with anything is "KOV". I think the only way to change that is to disband the unit and make a completely new one. We can do that, really got nothing to lose except the 100,000 c-bills I put in the coffers a long time ago. But Scooty made a decent point, we don't have to always be TKV. I was only a part of TKV in LOL, it goes way back before me and I really have no particular deep seeded feelings for it. But I don't mind it either way.

I'm going to assume the Premium time, Mechbay, and MC are going to be rare compared to the rest of the prizes. But even getting extra weapons will be nice, shit some of them cost as much as 600,000 c-bills for one of them! I'll be interested to see just how good these prizes are, especially since you can get up to 100 of them.
