His response tweet seems to be tongue in cheek.
1. He's never had a "slice". (The quotes imply he's had sliceS or pizza themed foods.)
2. He's been a Habs fan for 4 weeks? Not sure what that's even about. He could just be implying he bought the hat 4 weeks ago.
3. As for the soda, since it's so small, he could be making a joke about the Bloomberg "control your fucking life" soda policy.

They took him to a game during filming. He probably got a hat for free. I wouldn't say that makes him a legit fan.
Did he tweet when they got knocked out of the playoffs?

Given the quotes, most likely he's referring to the specific NY style pizza phenomenon rather than not ever having had pizza at all.
