So they fight through every amount of adversity possible only to give up the second something goes wrong at the end?
One of the stupidest endings in the history of film.
Plus, they didn't happen to hear the army of people and activity outside, nor see anything while driving PAST all that stuff.
Dumb. Dumb. Dumb. Dumb. Dumb.

Ya. I'm PISSED. One of my favorite King stories, yet again, turned into a steaming pile of shit movie. Who the fuck extended the ending? Why the fuck was this approved? What the fuck is it with people thinking they can tell a better fucking story?
The day I hear they are making a Gunslinger movie. . . . I dunno. That will suck.
Holy shit, people suck.

Everything was wrong with this movie. I mean, everything. The acting, the dialogue, the behavior of most characters. The complete "something's wrong, I'll ignore it for a while, then maybe fix it" attitude of the movie.
I did not expect that ending. So I'll give them that, I guess. But... wow.
On a scale of pie to cake, that movie was a late term abortion.

Dear god, this movie was a half-assed drunken fry-up as soon as the tentacle grabs the kid & no one helps. The most entertaining things are the CG critters. & they're still garden variety.
Andre Braugher's character is completely wasted.
I'm not even going to go into all the problems w\ the psycho religious woman ... suffice it to say she should've either been shot or tossed out earlier -- problem solved.
I've seen strung out junkies tripping balls that would've acted more intelligently & rationally than the crowd of retards trapped in that store.
& it had to be one of the top ten worst endings I've ever seen. Nothing about it made sense. The people that tried to make something out of their situation mostly got killed. The sheep back in the store survive. Wtf? At the very least, I wanted to see some choppers or soldiers taking out the critters.
Turns out the same dude that did this did The Green Mile & Shawshank. Here's what King says about his ending ...
Darabont conceived of a new ending in translating the novella for the big screen. Author Stephen King praised Darabont's new ending, describing it as one that would be unsettling for studios. King said, "The ending is such a jolt—wham! It's frightening. But people who go to see a horror movie don't necessarily want to be sent out with a Pollyanna ending."
If you needed anymore convincing Stephen King no longer knows shit about horror, here it is.

So King praised this one, but hated The Shining?
Hmmmmm

Well, The Shining was barely a King movie.
