So simply out of curiosity, do folks here determine whether or not a film is worth their time based on the reviews that we (any forum member) writes?

The first "Yes" vote will be mine. I know for a fact that I've seen or avoided films based on recommendations here.

As a general rule, I don't go or not go see flicks based solely on a handful of opinions. There've been a few instances where I've done so, but only cos the individuals demonstrated exceptional perception.

Yes. I've use all reviews to determine how I will feel about a film based on how people view them. Not just saying "OH, person X likes it, I will like it" but more "Person X likes it for Y reasons, but I dont care about Y so screw it" or what-not.

I voted YES... but YES-generally.

For example, if Malcolm doesn't like a particular flick... well... big surprise, there. I have a general sense of how peeps' here tastes swing, and go from there.

I'm the NO vote. I do like reading the reviews (well, skimming the longer ones), but on the whole I just end up watching whatever and reviews usually don't move me towards or away from a particular flick.

I guess yes in general but not if I will see a movie or not but when I will see a movie. If most people here don't like it I won't pay to see it at the movies but will wait to rent it.

No, I pretty much don't watch movies no matter what.
