He got so weird the last decade or so of his life that I really didn't have an opinion one way or the other about him. Or maybe more accurate that I just tried to pretend he was there. Like my crazy aunt.

Don't know what other people think but I always thought that superman kinda sucked.
Not the worst thing in comics but I just never understood what made the comics so cool. At least he isn't aquaman.
He just always seemed to have the right power for whatever situation he was in. He is surrounded by fire and can't fly away, no problem he has ice breath. Needs to find a bomb in a building before it blows up, no problem he can use X-ray vision. Needs to hit a bad guy from a long distance, he has it covered becaue now he shoots lasers from his eyes.
The only thing that hurt him was this one substance that the bad guys just always seem to have. That and him have to save lois were his only weak spots. A bit too powerful for my liking.
With that said the stills I have seen of clark kent are pretty spot on and he looks like superman.

For the $320-390 million the film will end up costing them, they could have done two films.
I think each Lord of the Rings film was budgeted $93-94 million (plus $50 million for promotions).

The Emasculation of Superman
If I remember correctly this was a joke in the series 'Lois and Clark'. Mrs. Kent figured no one would recognize Clark as Superman because they would be concentrating on something other than his face when in his tights.

Nothing in this new trailer screams "SUCK!" at me.
In fact, Academy Award winner Kevin Spacey looks pretty good as Mister Lootor.

I still believe if Bruce Campbell hadn't become the cult figure that he is for B movies, he would have made the perfect Superman.
As it is, I can't imagine him playing Supes straight, but more in a "campy" style.

I like Gene Hackman as Luthor. But Kevin Spacey is fucking awesome, so I'm sure he'll be great.

After seeing that last trailer, I gots to see that movie. Looks like Spacey is paying hommage to Hackman by playing Luthor as over-the-top. Sweet.
