An "ok" suspense horror with a really stupid ending.

Thus, I'm not going to bother with a spoiler free review.

Scientists find a deep cave and call in the world's best cave divers. The cave divers go deep into the cave through an underwater river and hilarity ensues when they find a bunch of "Alien" wannabes.

There's a point early on in the film when you see a plot device and realize a guy had to swim 2.4 miles underwater to leave it there. That sets the tone for the rest of the film.

It got better later after you watch a former special forces guy get his ass kicked in seconds despite his efforts to run like a coward, only to see a 105 civilian girl beat the living shit out of and KILL one of the monsters while hanging from a cliff by her hands. Oooooh, I'm so scared of a monster that a tiny girl can out muscle.

And why do the monsters have wings? They evolved for thousands upon thousands of years in this cave without any outside influence, so why would they have wings?

The acting is ok which is saying something for this type of film, so I guess hats off to the actors. A funny note about the actors is that the guy who gets second billing and a bit character are the most famous people in this movie thanks to their TV shows (Invasion/Tilt for one, Lost for the other).

Anyway, you'll see the "twist" ending get set up from a mile away. I won't ruin that for anyone, but it's REALLY fucking stupid. The ending ignores facts set by the film and the entire storyline of another character.

An interesting concept whose writers should be beaten to death with a herring.
