Ok, I'm officially paying to play now. $19.99 for the first month, $15/month after that. Extra $5 to activate my account? I've been playing for two weeks now. . . I'd say it's been pretty activated already. . . Oh, I can change my characters picture for $10. Fucking corporate bastards. . . . I'm quitting.
I want a private EVE forum up too so we can plot against the enemies and stuff.

They are totally restricting your freedom of speech by charging you for a custom picture.

Hey, Cake, if your are near the Uedama system tomorrow, and want to do Tech Secrets I, a hard mission that should be able to be pulled off with two Level 3 Frigs fitted with explosion shield hardeners.
I keep getting it, 400k total base payout. Loot quality on the Mercs is fantastic, from what I was able to grab. About 20 Merc Fighters that come waves of 4-5 each. I can tank the missle flights for a while, but I can't kill enough before I get swarmed by the reinforcements. I've got extra Explosions Hardeners for the mission + some high quality Shield Boosters. It's supposed to have some good stuff at the end.
I'll be playing tomorrow after noon prolly, once my head clears.

I really don't see what's so exciting about all this EVE Online stuff.

So, who all's playin' now? Leisher, when are you going to fire it up?
I want to get a space station started. I also want a capital ship. No one sells them. The blue prints for them are in the billions.

I'm too busy with Urban Dead... it takes at least 5-10 minutes a day.

I'm in, having a good time so far. The 3-month mark will tell the tale... that's when I realized SWG was no longer fun.

Well, I can honestly say that I'm not a fan of the $5 activation fee nor the $10 to change your custom picture. It makes me wonder what other hidden costs they'll try to hit me with later on.
But I'll be on soon. I'm actually out of town most of this weekend which is why I haven't started my trial yet.

I didn't pay any activation fee for the 14-day free trial.

Alright, today I start my informaton assimilation of for Eve Online rules, stats, info, etc. Any sites I should check out besides the obvious official site?

I didn't look at any sites except the dtman forum. Just get in and play the tutorial. If you quit the tutorial to log off... and you will... hit F12 to relaunch it, and you can jump to close to where you left off.

I quit the tutorial after figuring out how to fly, and shoot.
Turned out fine.
.....
Christ! I was just taking a simple trip back to my first 2 agent in .4 space to reset his offer clock. I was eating a sandwhich as I autopliloted in. Wasn't expected anything. Come up on my station and am nearly eradicted by two 10 million PC pirates. Thank god for Engine upgrades and Afterboosters! My hands are still shaking. I really wish I had a guild + a ship that I could call in to take em on and claim the bounty, as they are kind of stuck here, in .4 surrounded by .5+ and above.

$5 is after activation... part of ur first month.

I think the activation fee represents the game itself, as it was originally provided in box form.
I guess the 5 bucks is like saying... well you didn't pay us 20 bucks for the cd, but were gonna charge you five for what was on it.

I'd like to see some sort of DTMan Conglomeration. Or caliphate.
