Stock pictures are the B roll of photography. What's B roll? B roll is the shots of scenery or people you see in movies when nothing is happening. For example: Many movies start off with B roll footage of the area surrounding where the movie takes place.

Anyway, the point of stock photos is that you're hoping someday someone will want/need to use it, and you'll get paid.

It's hard to imagine a scenario where someone will need any of these.
