accused those Duke lacrosse players of rape?

She murdered her boyfriend.

Last year, she was convicted on misdemeanor charges after setting a fire that nearly torched her home with her three children inside. In a videotaped police interrogation, she told officers she set got into a confrontation with her boyfriend at the time — not Daye — and burned his clothes, smashed his car windshield and threatened to stab him.

The article also states that she had mental health problems, although that was speculation.

What pisses me off about the article is this bit:
The case heightened long-standing tensions in Durham about race, class and the privileged status of college athletes.

If they're referring to how vilified these players were by their peers and the staff of the college, those who claim to be morally and intellectually superior, then fine. However, I doubt that was the intent of that sentence.

Don't know about the rest of you, but the Duke LaCrosse thing was big around here when it happened. And naturally the players were presumed guilty by the Duke faculty, who wrote a letter to the paper about those awful racist rapers.

I was just wondering if the same thing happened at Florida State recently. You know, because RAPE. Or RACE.

Why shouldn't do whatever they feel, no matter who gets hurt? It isn't like there are consequences.
