I miss the days of billing $100/hour for the 20 hour plane trip to Malaysia.

I get paid when on-call, but to a max of 8 hours per day.
If you aren't getting paid while on-call, why in the world would you be willing to be on-call in the first place?

For me it was part of the job. Don't like it, find a new job was the attitude.

Same here. I don't get bonus pay when I get paged for the login server going down.

I've made it a point in my career to avoid jobs that are exempt from overtime to one degree or another. I've known too many people expected to work 50 and 60 hour weeks for base salary to want to do the same. Ick.
