Trying to short circuit a hangover is always a multi-step process. And I still call bullshit on Sprite.

I always tried to short circuit mine ahead of time: 32 oz of Gatorade and 2 ibuprofen before bed.

I maintain pills before bed or after do nothing.
1) Do not start drinking without appropriate food and hydration beforehand.
2) Attempt to drink 10-16oz of water every 3-4 beers/shots/mixers, talls/doubles mean 20-32oz of water.
3) For every 1-2 hours of booze consumption, slam 0.5L of water prior to unconsciousness.

When I get drunk I crave lots of water, as long as I don't fight that craving I never get hung over.
In fact I feel better after a long night of drinking than I do on regular mornings. I suspect I spent most of my life hungunder.
