The article claims it's related to 2012 DA14, but it's not. Twelve hours too soon and going in the wrong direction. Pure coincidence.

I thought it interesting that so many dash cameras happened to catch it. Made me wonder if maybe this is some well coordinated viral ad for something. But it seems that almost everyone in Russia does indeed have a dash cam because the drivers there are just awful

Yeah I asked the Russian guy at work the same thing. He says it's so you can have evidence in case you get in an accident.

Yeah, there are composite youtube videos of crash after crash of terrible Russian drivers, because responsible peeps know they need dashboard cams.
Which would get you thrown in jail in America, of course, because you aren't allowed to film cops on duty.

I know, I've been watching them all day.
Does no one in Russia learn to "Steer for the Rear" to avoid a side-impact collision? Every single time I car is about to t-bone another in these videos, they always swerve to try to go around the front of the other car, which is of course where that car will be in just a moment ready for impact. So much dumb.
