I'm a little torn. On the one hand I think even his initial demands were a little harsh, unless everyone involved was in the upper income levels.

On the other hand, no mercy for assholes.

It's not entirely without legal merit. Remarks maliciously made about various aspects of someone's life (sexuality falls in that category, particularly if it's an unmarried female) are, by law, given the label "defamatory per se" in all but a few states. Which is really just a nice way of saying, "The First Amendment will in no way, shape, or form being admitted as a legitimate defense for that remark."
