US oil giant ExxonMobil plans to invest up to $600 million in research on oil produced from algae.

Gee, it's almost like they're sick of zig-zag drilling miles down into the fucking ocean and want to stop doing it.

Calling it now:

The equivalent surface area of billions of square miles of algae is created to provide us for fuel. Billions of tons of new biomass.

They pull so much CO2 out of the atmosphere during their growth process that the Earth loses its ability to retain heat, plunging us into another ice age.

Additionally, the O2 level of the atmosphere rises by 3%, resulting in massive conflagrations of once lush jungle. From space the Amazon basin looks like the surface of Mars.

All humans die.

You know... since doom and gloom is so popular.
