From here.
Benedict XVI used the first papal state visit to Britain today to launch a blistering attack on "atheist extremism" and "aggressive secularism", and to rue the damage that "the exclusion of God, religion and virtue from public life" had done in the last century.

Yeah, because including god always makes things better.

"Today, the United Kingdom strives to be a modern and multicultural society," he said. "In this challenging enterprise, may it always maintain its respect for those traditional values and cultural expressions that more aggressive forms of secularism no longer value or even tolerate. Let it not obscure the Christian foundation that underpins its freedoms...

Yeah, because Christianity existed before any of the pagan, polytheistic beliefs of the Celts, Picts, Angles, Saxons, etc. I'm sure they've got nothing to do w\ the U.K. today.

I refuse to tolerate petty bigotry because your holy book says so. I refuse to tolerate ignorance and anti-intellectual attitudes because your holy book says so. I refuse to tolerate so-called "religious" institutions that are a thinly veiled political monstrosity interested only in claiming and maintaining power over those silly enough to follow along just because your holy book says so.

I refuse to tolerate your medieval misguided misogynistic misanthropic mishmash of moral travesty and sleazy political trickery and I certainly refuse to show any of it anything close to respect. Fuck you, Pope Benadick.

What's to worry about? Islam is a religion of peace.
