Just saw an army recruting commercial. Those yahoos were wearing "Marpat" camouflage uniforms, which is short for "Marine Pattern." The Marines invented that shit. I actually had to look it up because I hadn't heard the army adopted it.

Now the army is wearing it. Cute.

That’s right, the Navy Working Uniform type II & III desert and woodland pattern will be included in the overall discussion of the Army’s replacement of the UCP. And apparently the Air Force got left out of the service-wide disccusion (sic).


Apparently there was no need for "golf course" camo pattern.

I heard the best argument for the AF as being the branch of service where the officers get shot at, but the grunts generally don't.

I suppose baggy BDUs are more comfortable and practical, but damned if they don't look...sloppy.
