So.... every now and then I find myself in a situation where everyone says the Pledge.
I pretty much never do it. I feel like I did my time in the Marines, and I have proven my loyalties all I need to prove, forever.
I no longer feel entirely comfortable with a PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE to anything.
Is it just me?

I also do not participate in group prayer. And it seems to happen around me quite a bit.

I'll say the pledge from time to time, but I do leave out a certain phrase.
And I don't speak out against a prayer, but I don't bow my head or close my eyes, either. I just patiently wait it out and let the superstitious folks do whatever bone rattling it is that makes them feel better.

Sucks being a cult leader. Except for the money and crazy sex.

I haven't said it in over 20 years.
I'll stand there respectful, but when I was turning 18 I decided that I wasn't going to pledge allegiance to a flag or a government. Governments can change, and if it changes too much I may not want to have an allegiance to it.
