I woke up this morning to my wife's alarm clock which she has set to a local radio station (92.5). I laid in bed and listened to them do some sort of trivia thing called odd facts or something. Anyway, they started with this statement:
"All the continents begin and end with the same letter." (This came from some book, and I'm not sure why it ignores "North" and "South" or if the odd fact was read incorrectly...)

As the hosts, it sounded like four people, discussed this they related the following "facts" from their own knowledge:
-North and South America are a single continent, because you can drive from one to the other.
-That "fact" was then called into question when a female host pointed out that she thought it was two and they were "americas". But that ended in "s", which couldn't be right...
-Then they thought maybe it was just one called America.
-Africa was never mentioned.

They ended the segment by declaring that fact to be bogus and moved onto another one. I turned off the radio.

I used to immediately call FM 104 when my alarm went off in the mornings because I had the answer to their movie quote contests. I won 3 times in less than a year, that I recall.

I was watching the Masters this past weekend and they said something like "We've got every continent except the Antarctic and the Artic represented on the leaderboard." WTF?

Also one time I was listening to the radio and the question was "In what country was the movie The Air Up There set?"

Answer: "Africa."

I'm still confused about why I was taught for 20 years that this planet had 4 oceans, but suddenly everyone is now talking about the Southern Ocean.

Well, there's pretty much just One Big Ocean, right?

Yeah. But if you want to go there then why are Europe and Asia considered to be 2 continents?

The same reason Artica and Atlantis are two different continents...

So which is fictional, Europe or Asia?

Both.

Europe is really "Formerly Germany" and Asia is really "Suburban China".
