Due to living in Ohio, which I am positive must be pretty close to the Arctic Circle, I didn't get the garden until mid-May, unlike early April as I was doing in NC.
Planted: Tomatoes, onion, bell peppers, jalepenos, sweet corn, cucumbers, watermelons, and pumpkins... and there are a few volunteer pumpkin plants from last year that I allowed grow.
So far we've eaten about a dozen cherry tomatoes, yummy. Been eating onions for about a month; I am surprised how much tastier they are than those bought from Kroger.... I figured there wouldn't be much difference between a store-bought onion and one that you eat 10 minutes after pulling it from your garden, but there was a huge differnce.
But the real reason for this thread is that I just made some chicken fajitas for dinner, with garden onions, bell peppers, tomatoes, and a single jalepeno. I am glad I added the jalepeno as a topping instead of mixing it into the fajitas while they cooked (wife and kid prolly wouldn't like).... because god DAMN these fuckers are hot. As soon as I ate one little piece my mouth was on fire. 30 seconds later my lips are burning. Right now my fingers are burning from when I was handling them.
In other words, I grew some good fucking jalepenos. I can't wait until enough tomatoes are in for some chili, and salsa...
There are prolly pics. I'll ask the wife where on the server she put them.
On a side note, you've got to love a gardening thread where the f-bomb is dropped multiple times.
