Hunger (2023)

Currently on Netflix.
Thai film (Netflix has a dubbed version) about a young woman who gets a chance to work for a famous chef.
This got my attention because I saw a clip of her tryout, and the one thing she does that the chef points out is 100% factual. It's something most people do not know.
The chef isn't a slave driver, but he has super high standards. I guess you could say he's a Thai Gordon Ramsey, but for some reason that I cannot place, that doesn't equate well for me.
Initially, I thought this was Whiplash, but for cooking. There's a touch of that, but this movie is about something else.
I won't ruin it, but there are some statements here about the rich that are, quite possibly, the best I've ever seen in a movie. The last time I saw anything this spot on about the rich was in the Preacher books. There statements are powerful and accurate. Just very timely in this "Epstein files" world.
The movie is a bit slow at times, but it's very well acted.
Won't be everyone's cup of tea, but I liked it.
