Batman's death (seen below) pissed off a LOT of people because it's so disrespectful of the character and source material. The audience let them know and this game tanked massively. A huge failure and this coming off a lackluster previous game.
Now the game is being shut down, and they have put out an ending. An ending that is obvious backtracking because it's not animated and Kevin Conroy (the voice of Batman) has since died in RL and did not voice this scene.
They bought them back to life and said the ones that died were clones.
