It's been decades since I've seen this film.... maybe 3 of them.
I'd forgotten how much high school movies in the 90s were about being POPULAR. The social outcast in this movie thinks he hit the popularity jackpot because he found a dead guy in his back yard. He behaves as if all of his problems are solved that first day, he's going to steal the girl from the jock, and go to prom, and have a raging party in his backyard pit.... because he found a dead guy (they thought he was dead that first day before the ice melted).
I don't think I get how that ever made sense.
