King Ralph is the patriarch, Danny Mcbride and the annoying guy from Workaholics are his sons. And they're mega-church evangelists with the last name of Gemstone.

And there's some deep corruption in their church.

This is sort of a comedy, sort of a drama, and I think its intent is to take down the weirdness of churches.

There are currently two seasons. I just finished S1E2.

Worth it?

Can't vouch yet. There have certainly been some left-turns in even the first two episodes.

Three episodes in. I have seen one pair of breasts, and maybe 4 dongs. Full twig and berries.

S1E4 - I want to go to that club. Satanic metal drug orgy is exactly my jam.

Boobs galore. Small number of penises.

Also, it's not edgy, it's just dumb.

Finished S1. I think it's a solid show.

Gave me "Big Love" vibes, and I don't think just because of the religious aspect of both shows. The kids all stop just shy of being terrible, but they all had their moments of fleshing-out. John Goodman, surprisingly, is sincere. He's trying to be a good minister.

And the show never showed the (individual) audience/church-goers as ignorant rubes, or zealots. That isn't what the show is about, at least in S1. It seems to be putting a spotlight on "Big Religion," but not at the expense of the congregation. Interesting.

S2 is done. Show remains solid. A lot of character growth this season.
