HBO Max

Elaine from Seinfeld is the VP of the USA. This show is sort of like that show, without the laugh track. Just a weird sort of awkward, ridiculous situations that seem sort of realistic.

And there's a callback to a famous Seinfeld gag Elaine got in, in season 1.

I'm only in s1. At least 7. It might be done already.

I'm somewhere in seasons 4 or 5, out of 7.

Interesting observations:

- Takes place in fictional universe. No real political people mentioned or featured.
- This show is about politics, but it's all of them snarking through politics.
- These characters are 1% trying to do a good job, and 99% trying to keep their jobs, every episode.
- I don't think they've said the words "republican" or "democrat" a single time.

So, worth watching for something light. I stand by my "seinfeld" style humor, without the laugh track. This chick could almost be "What happened if Elaine Benis became VP."

Holy shit, they depicted college kids as... needing to be taken out back and shot.

Person goes to a college where they're being protested against, unfairly. Steps out of the car this person gets shouted down by everyone. Person tries to get a word in edgewise... college girl shrieks, "HOW DARE YOU TALK OVER ME! I HAVE A RIGHT TO BE HEARD."

Holy shit.

The show is getting tedious by the last season, you can only see a person get screwed over and over until you get the point. But I'll say this much... I've never seen a show that went full in on making fun of

Season 7 spoiler:
Making fun of abortion with a woman literally still laying in bed bleeding from the crotch.

Well that didn't go the way I expected.

I expected she'd be the lovable underdog, but by the last couple seasons she was clearly full-on evil.
