Odd I can't find a thread on it.

I'm about halfway through Act 2 of the Original campaign, with two or three expansions to go.

Has this been reviewed/discussed somewhere else?

I believe I reviewed it a long time ago, but it was probably wiped by a forum crash.

How does the play experience compare to NWN 1?

Similar.

NN2 is a good game, but I'd highly recommend skipping it and getting The Witcher first. Make sure you get the latest edition of it, I forget the name...

Ha! Just looked it up on Steam and lo and behold, guess what's 30% off through today (August 12th)?

The Witcher Enhanced Edition Director's Cut is $27.99 and is a great game.

Picture any D&D type game, like NN2, only add in adult language and themes.

The Witcher is on all the gaming media's "play this" and "best games you haven't played" lists.

This could also be a multi option. It's biggest benefit is that I already own it on Steam.

Looks like some peeps already played it, though.

I've logged in, have not played it. This would be a HUGE time commitment, I think.

I am a huge RPG fan. However, the one evening I was exposed to you guys in an RPG, it was not fun, and very disappointing. It pretty much killed any interest I had in playing that genre of game with our group in the future.

Plus, it would be a massive time commitment as Cake points out.

I'm not really looking to dump one massive time sink, "mandatory gaming" experience for another.

That is SO unfair that I get glombed into that group. You and I did Diablo just fine. It was Gordon that fucked shit up.

But, I will say, I think he has matured quite a bit. We played all the way through NWN together (with 3 other people as well) and he never caused any trouble.

I think NWN2 could be manageable. As in, not life dominating. I'm just saying that it will be a slow playing game because it's ffffuuuuuuuckinnnnnnnggggg deep. When I created my character, I think I spent about 2.5 hours reading everything so I picked the right race/class/abilities/etc. And since I don't 'auto pick' my skills when I level up, it will be more research each time. I want to pick what is going to benefit me/the party/etc the most. Playing, I think will flow well enough. I just think we might have to make the rule that we all level up on our own time. In other words, if you level up, you just keep playing. Don't stop to research and select your upgrades right then. Do them tomorrow during lunch. I know a few people that would play this. We could end up with a really large party if we wanted to. Then just say 2 nights a week. Not a life suck. Just another game we play weekly.

I dont remember multi Baldur's Gate, either. I played that game solo.

I do remember multi NWN. We finished that one.

I remember Matt Ball running crazy in some game at one point, don't remember which.

Matt Ball was crazy in UO.

Baudler's Gate lasted about 45 minutes. 30 minutes of all of us deciding the party composition and the roles we would play. 10 minutes of creating our characters and getting in game. 5 minutes of you killing every NPC in town or trying to rob them causing our reputation to go so low that we couldn't be in town any more without getting attacked. I think we even started over with you promising you wouldn't do that again. But then did it again.

And then you and Tim played it by yourselves and I sat there wondering why weren't playing it. Then you guys announced you beat it and I uninstalled because I bought it to multi with you guys. Like Diablo 2.

Eh ... I'm calling that more your fault for believing him.

I didn't blame you.

I remember Gordo possibly being drunk, and I forgot who the fourth was...

I think I remember rolling a thief and then getting yelled at for trying to pickpocket the mayor or something. What do you expect, I was a thief.

But maybe I dreamed it.

No, that's pretty much how it went.

"But Gordon, that's going to ruin the game for us all if you keep doing that rendering it unplayable"

So, ya, pretty much from day 1. You were the problem.

Yeah, how dare you roleplay in a roleplaying game?!
