My kids have a lot of evening/night activities: sports, choir, etc. So often the wife and I are both busy shuttling the kids around to their separate things.

I got invited to speak at a meetup that's scheduled in a couple of weeks. It's been on the family calendar for a while now. A few days ago the wife says: "I won tickets to see a movie the night of your meetup, so I can't shuttle kids. How important is the meetup to you?"

I felt bad, because she really likes movies, is an indy film-maker herself, and sees a lot of movies made by people in her community.

"Well," I said, "I was invited to speak, so...sorry."

Turns out it was tickets to see this Amy Schumer film, and so now I don't feel so bad.

I don't feel bad at all.

Sure why not. It's PyLadies, April 18 at our office.

Supposed to be for the ladies but I'm sure you'd be welcome :p

It's pretty funny, right? I'm going over the Titanic dataset, pointing out female privilege.

Ah, that was the first dataset I did python on. Guess that's a pretty typical example?

Don't get fired. Facts can, in fact, be sexist.

Yeah, if you get on Kaggle it's one of the introductory ones, and also I think Udacity uses it too.

Fairly small amount of data (like, 1000 rows I think?), small feature set, and pretty intuitive to understand once you get past the prejudices of fake history: in fact, most women did OK regardless of what class they were.
